The PSA furnished Foam Mixer Station is a fabricated machine assembly based on an existing design originally built by our client. PSA's enhanced design allowed for a controlled and measurable mixing of foam products for the purpose of developing new foam compounds which can be accurately recreated and manufactured in large scale batches. The mixing process was automated using a CompactLogix PLC to allow operators to input recipe variables, monitor experiments, and collect and store data for further analysis. Enhanced safety features ensured operators are never in harm's way and the machine is programmed to shut down in the event of an unsafe condition. PSA provided an Allen Bradley PanelView HMI to handle all interaction between the operator, PLC and Mixer Drive System as well as the display of alarms and operational progress.
